about

The series of recent albums (1.source, 2.the.event, 3.harmony, 4.nature and 5.euclid) are inspired by a large-scale structure I invented a few years ago. There are 5 types of movement, with rules for each movement. The structure cycles through these movements in the given order, and in theory continues forever. You can check out my github site for more information. For the last 6 months or so, I have been been using one movement type for each album, as I refine the software I am writing. This current album is a teaser for the large-scale structure in that it only uses four of the five movement types. Next month, expect the proper form to be released (with the addition of 5.euclid). As yet, 3.harmony is rather primitive. Expect that to improve in the future.

The album showcases the SnM sound and music engine.

100% algorithmic composition. Four scripts (one for each movement type), each run 4 times.
No editing, no remixing, no post-production. No selection or re-arrangement of tracks.
