Would it make you happy if I came along to tea? Would it make you wiser if I showed you what I see here in my dreams? Love is like a potion, a healer of the soul. Love can bring you happiness and love can make you whole. But you think love is property to buy or steal or trade. You think love's insurance for a house or for old age. Looking at a wider view of what is going on Do you think there's any way that I can really show you who you are?

Iron John 02:29
Neil is making video, Rose is booking planes I'm on my back in a pile of ashes wondering when I will ever fly again. Exposed to the sun in the King's own courtyard The wild man rattles the bars of his cage The Queen makes dreams for the Heir to the Throne Her pillow conceals an Iron Key. Can the young man solve the riddle? Will Iron John be freed again? The Golden Ball was the Best Toy Ever But will the boy ever play with the ball again? Red is the banner of the soldier White is for a saint. Black is the key to Iron John And only a wild man can free a saint.

Here I am again in another rented room with a tatty, battered armchair that came with the window Someday now, and I pray to God it's soon I'll live like a king and I won't fear the winter Is it going to be like this forever now? At the end of a road in a corrugated house lives a Wild Man who faces the bullshit with passion Some say sane men would sell you the moon but he jumps at the chance and he works like a madman Is it going to be like this forever now? My lover's an angel, she's raised as a worker and hard work is something she just takes for granted Tough on the outside but easily bruised from a lifetime of hearing she don't count for nothing Is it going to be like this forever now? At the end of the rainbow where dreams come to pass is a farm in a gully and a house that stands empty So I filled up each room with pictures and songs and some say it's folly and some say it's magic And it's going to be like this forever now, in my world.

Catching trains and busses on their way to spend a day and earn a dollar Sometimes it's hard to understand the dreams that drive a man to live in chains With suit and tie and weary eye or maybe grubby hands and dark blue collar Making hay on sunny days and pray the roof will hold for when it rains But when a heart comes to shine it can cut through all the grime and a smiling face reminds my yet again that there's always time enough to play the game

about

A combination of 70s rock and original classical guitar compositions.

Simultaneously a "best of" and a showcase of my entire "career" as a song writer. By that, I mean that I tried to include music spanning everything from my teen years into my 40s. Most of the music in this album was recorded later on, but some were re-workings of songs I wrote as a teenager.

Originally "mastered" onto cassette, and I was very particular about the timing of the gaps between each track. That all got lost when it was re-mixed and re-mastered to digital.

Pretty much everything was recorded at home using 4-track reel-to-reel and cassette. Very basic equipment.
